Permanent Cosmetics

What is Permanent Cosmetics?

Permanent Cosmetics also known as Permanent Makeup is a cosmetic procedure that implants pigment or color into the dermal layer of the skin in order to enhance the color and shape of your facial features. The tattooing process is also known as micropigmentation or microshading.

It is important to follow all instructions and refrain from the listed contraindications! If you do not refrain from all of the contraindications listed, the procedure will be rescheduled!

  • NO Botox (three weeks prior)
  • NO Facial Treatments OR Any Form of Tanning (two weeks prior)
  • No Electrolysis, Waxing, Tweezing, Picking, or Tinting (one week prior)

24-48 hours prior to procedure (to avoid excessive bleeding and poor color deposit):

  • NO Alcohol
  • NO Ibuprofen or Aspirin (natural blood thinners)
  • NO Caffeinated Products (Day of)
  • NO Gym (Day of)

What Happens in the Procedure?

The initial appointment lasts approximately 2-3 hours.

Mapping Process:

The most important part of the entire procedure!

Using your natural face structure, a temporary stencil is drawn on the procedure area.

We discuss the outline and make any adjustments desired.

Tattooing Process:

Pre-Numbing/Numbing

Depending on the procedure area, we may pre-numb with a topical cream.

If not, we will begin the procedure without pre-numb and a secondary numbing gel is applied during the procedure.

Color Deposit

A procedure can take anywhere between 1-2 hours. The optimal goal is to lay a great foundation for desired color and shape. There should be minimal to no pain or discomfort during the procedure. An aftercare kit will be provided after the procedure for your healing regimen. FOLLOW THE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS!

Touch Up Appointment:

Touch up appointments are crucial to perfecting the area of the desired shape and color. It is scheduled 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment. Your skin will have gone through its initial healing phase, it will scab, flake and peel. The target color may be lighter or the shape can be slightly lost, THIS IS NORMAL. All adjustments are made during the Touch Up.

Yes, you will go through a healing phase again! After you are completely healed, it is up to you to take care of your skin such as using SPF to help fight against the sun's UV Rays, skincare regimen that helps keep your skin healthy and moisturized, etc.

How Long Does It Last?

Further Touch Up appointments are commonly every 2-5 years. The range varies because  everyone’s skin is different! From the skin’s physiology to the activities a client does (sun tanning, sports, etc.) will affect the way the pigment/color holds.
